Siyue (April) Chen
Visiting Ph.D. Candidate
Siyue is a Visiting Ph.D. candidate in the collaborative doctoral program between the University of Toronto and Fudan University, co-supervised by Dr. Stephen Lye and Professor Yanting Wu. Her research is grounded in the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) framework, with a particular focus on how maternal metabolic and inflammatory states contribute to maternal diseases and program offspring health outcomes.
Her current work includes evaluating the therapeutic potential of a novel broad-spectrum chemokine inhibitor in endometriosis, as well as profiling inflammatory mediators linking maternal obesity to adverse perinatal outcomes using high-throughput Olink proteomics.
